Ex-footballer pundits don't follow the game that closely. I fully accept that making a blind judgement on limited evidence you might think that Allardyce has done okay - many of our fans feel that way too.
I think it's only when you look close up at what the team actually do on the pitch every week that it becomes more obvious how little progress we have made under Allardyce.

even on the radio 5 fighting talk sports quiz this morning, phil brown bypassed the required comedy answers to drone on about how west ham fans are lucky to have allardyce, etc etc
its just a big old boys club with the lot of them, and the fans are just an irritant they are made to tolerate
Claridge for example - always takes any managers side against fans criticism

This is the the problem they are biased towards the English managers. If he was foreign they would have been on his back a long time ago.
BFS is very lucky that he had a player scoring a lot of goals at the start of the season or else we would have been looking at relegation.
